Vegan Burger Recipe

Vegan Burgers have been very popular lately among us vegans and also the high street fast food sellers. Are vegan Burgers hard to make ? Not at all! In fact they are easy to make and is a great way to make kids eat more veggies. They are absolutely delicious and easy to make with the Ingredients you have got in your pantry. Here is the ideal Vegan Burger Recipe 

Things to Remember

Making a vegan Burger that does not fall apart is important. So do not make a mixture that is too dry or too wet. The texture should be a little moist but make sure the mixture should not stick to your hands while making patties.

Ingredients

  • 1 medium sized chopped Carrots and onions.
  • 40gms chopped beans
  • 40gms green peas
  • 3-4 medium sized boiled potatoes
  • 1 cup rice flakes
  • 1/4th tsp. each of garlic powder, turmeric powder, cumin powder, dry parsley. 
  • ½ tsp. each of mango powder and paprika
  • Salt
  • 2 to 3 tbsp. of unsalted Butter
  • ½ cup All-purpose flour 
  • 1/4th cup corn-starch
  • 1/4th cup yellow corn meal
  • Burger Buns
  • Chopped Lettuce, slice of tomatoes and onions.

Steps to cook Keep all the Chopped Veggies in separate bowl and add hot water and keep aside for about 10-15 minutes Meanwhile wash rice flakes in running water in a strainer. To make spice mix for the burger patty mix garlic powder, turmeric powder, mango powder, cumin powder, dry parsley, paprika and salt in a bowl. Heat 2-3 tbsp. of unsalted butter in pan add onion and stir till onion becomes translucent. Then add beans, peas and carrot to it and mix all together. Let the veggies cook for about 5minutes or till they become soft. Add mashed potatoes, also add salt and the spice mix and combine the mixture together. Turn off the flame and allow the mixture to cool down and then add rice flakes. Keep the vegetable mixture in the freezer for about 15 minutes. Meanwhile, prepare batter for burger patty. Mix all-purpose flour, corn starch, yellow cornmeal and salt and add some water to it and mix it well to form thick batter.Make the size of the patty the same as the size of the bun and dip them into the batter and mix them with the bread crumbs and fry them on medium flame till they turn golden brown.Then Slice the burger into two one side spread mayo and some chopped lettuce with a slice of tomatoes and onion and place the veggie patty on the other side then place them on top of each other.Vegan Burger is ready.
